Detail

Professional education
She took lessons with the Laren artist Gijsbertus Jan Sijthoff (1867-1949), whom she later married. They both lived and worked in the (then) artists colony Laren. They often exhibited their work together in Hilversum and Laren.

She was a member of the Vereniging van Beeldende Kunsten in Laren (Association of Visual Arts).

Many of her paintings enden up in Germany, as was the case with this painting above. It spent many years with a German family in Emsland and Ammerland; both locations not far from the Dutch border.

Seven years after her husband, she died in Laren on 1st June 1956.

Peter van Hooren (l) hands over his gift to Ien GM van der Pol, chairman of Fem Art Collection.
